ABB reports that 3D renderings of more than 3,000 of its Homac connectors ranging up to 500 kV capacity for electric utility substations have been added to the Substation Design Suite (SDS) software library from Spatial Business Systems (SBS) for CAD designers modeling substation projects. SDS is available to users of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Electrical software. Inventor with SDS allows electrical designers and EPCs to pull 3D CAD objects into a 3D virtual environment for substation projects, while AutoCAD Electrical users will benefit from a wider selection of connector models to help speed their design process.
